About technochroma

My name is Katrina Fedukowski, abstract fractal artist and Metro Boston native currently living in the Netherlands.

I am guided by an intuitive creative process, while using chaos, color and visual math to let composition arrive naturally. This results in illustrative and painterly dreamscapes, often with complex layers, iimpossible dimensions and surreal shapes.

I like to think of my fractals as being “open style” – neither structured nor unstructured, but somewhere in between.

My many influences include my education in art and design, styles like the Bauhaus and Impressionist school, and fantasy/sci-fi books, art and films. I started working with paint, pencil and ceramic art while very young, and basically never stopped exploring and creating different types of art. Stay curious everyone :)

I thank the fractal and artistic communities for guiding me in my art journey, and allowing me to be a community admin for three years already.

You can see a small selection of my prints on canvas among the art of many talented artists featured at Gallery Z Visual and Performing Arts Center in Lowell, Massachusetts. Gallery Z is the first physical gallery to accept my work and I am super grateful to everyone there.

I also hope to reach out to local Dutch galleries soon!

Bio

My background is in fine art and graphic design.

I started creating fractals circa 2008, joining the Aposhack community. I was able to learn from several legends such as Casperium, Fiery-Fire, sya, Platinus, tatasz, SuicidebySafetyPin, c-91, ChaosFissure, lyc, zueuk, zyorg, toistotoisto and so many more.

Beginning with Apophysis unstructured space art, I learned to make nebulas and other sci-fi scenes.

Then I went to structured fractals, and learned all the rules...

...only to break them all again by developing my own style of freeform fractal art as I ported my creative process over to Chaotica, which has been my fractal app of choice since 2016.

I also have several years' experience in client services, data operations, and database maintenance, along with customer service, logistics and sales.

Graphics Coding, Rendering, and Shaders

2023

I started learning how to code a long while ago, and with a background in data, I recently began to apply logic and learning to absorbing the basics of graphics art and rendering. Shaders are my creative outlet with applied learning of graphics coding.

Digital Abstract Fractal Art

2008-present

15 years

I started learning about fractals in 2008, amazed by the fractal nebula and other space effects created by Ali Ries aka Casperium with the use of Apophysis 2.08.

With the advent of Apophysis 3dHack, I joined the Aposhack community and went on to learn about structured fractals, all the way through Apo v 16; all the techniques and rules...

...only to break them all again by learning about the "unstructured" expressive style, influenced by ChaosFissure and the advanced rendering quality of the newly-released Chaotica 2 Beta.

Shortly after, I developed my own style of fractal art and have been working on it since, as technochroma.
