SUNSET WAVES - SENSORY MEMORY OF AN ELECTRIC SUNSET
Update: while I was rendering "SENSORY MEMORY OF AN ELECTRIC SUNSET", https://www.technochroma.art/portfolio-collections/a-healing-stay/sensory-memory-of-an-electric-sunrise , I ran into a nice configuration for the more traditional waves/gnarl, which is this piece. So that gets rendered now too :3 it’s a bit dark here as it still has many millions of points to fill.
Sensory Memory of an Electric Sunset - https://www.technochroma.art/portfolio-collections/a-healing-stay/sensory-memory-of-an-electric-sunrise - all my chatting today with good people inspired this. Digital abstract fractal art. Raw flame render, no ai, and no post-processing.
The overall configuration is a "gnarl" as you can see from the wavy formations. But I have all kinds of texture play going on here: “circlecrop”, “lazyjess”, and “target” for that futuristic pixel-stripey look.
On the final transform (final determining shape) there is “cell” for the micro-patterns; also “waves2” for the gnarl; “curl” to turn it in on itself and make the shape round, and “mirror_y” which mirror on the y axis to extend the canvas.
Curl helps a lot here because I wrap the shape in on itself, otherwise it would be just a funky-patterned grid - see second image :3 the original plane of gnarl has its merits but as always I seek to improve on everything, and make more of an artistic presentation of it.
I was going to fill the droplets with something but I think it adds character and authenticity to have that negative space - not every fractal I make goes to the edge of the canvas, and it's okay to show maker's marks.
The droplets also add to one of my internal mantras that sometimes, a little dopamine in the day is okay. I'm a lot more social and pleasant, outgoing now even, and I enjoy any and all time spent talking with others.
Cheers!
