Eh...sigh...not "opens a portal" as some insane former professors are obsessed with saying, or attributing to me, but rather the original interpretation of a portal: a place you pass through to get to another place, or a doorway. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal_(architecture) or https://babylon5.fandom.com/wiki/Jumpgate - https://www.giantfreakinrobot.com/ent/science-babylon-5-jumpgates.html or a black hole as potentially having the ability to join two different place in the Universe with a causality path. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_hole
And spider due to the spiderwebby or radial nature of the art: lines coming out from the center. Spiderwebs (not cobwebs, but spiderwebs) often have radial symmetry as it starts in the center and works its way out. Part of spiral magic as well, which again is not Sandy's. My logo is a simple clean depiction of a "plastic" type of fractal, where you have bubbles next to each other in spirals. I am also very partial to the nautilus as an expression of the Golden Ratio. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_ratio
Leonardo da Vinci was fascinated by the Golden Ratio (approximately), which he referred to as the "Divine Proportion." He famously illustrated polyhedra for Luca Pacioli’s 1509 treatise, De Divina Proportione, and used these mathematical principles to explore human anatomy and perfect spatial balance in art.
And a being whose evolution stands the test of time, never needing to change, perfect for its purposes and environment. A nautilus shell has air pockets which it also uses for movement, so if you split a nautilus shell in half it looks a little similar to my logo, with curved lines coming out from the center. https://www.gettyimages.com/photos/half-a-nautilus-shell
Spider because I did some shadow scrying the other night and to show a job well done, a big spider crawled out from the air conditioning pumps outside, and walked right in front of me. To me, spider is a very important totem, and one of my most important - for Arachne, and Grandmother Spider; overall a weaver and keeper of fate, supporter of the environment, and wisdom totem. Some say it's also a trickster totem and that does cross over also with my raven/crow, fox, coyote and hare.
Anyway when I see a spider or find a spiderweb it's a good sign to me that I'm on the right path somehow. It may not be literally the right way to go but can also describe good or valiant effort.
Volta, not valiant efforts, get lost. I left in 2006 to no longer cause trouble and save my life from Pearson. Please respect my privacy, you are NOT allowed to steal my work or anything about Path of the Wise either. If customers were entertained or found it a good plot, that's not on them at all, I am honored by the appreciation.
