Botanical terpene isolates are possible to use for addiction intervention in hospital or pharma or biochem settings. These compunds are non-THC and non-CBD. They work because they still soothe, but are non-psychoactive, and legal. Terpenes are Generally Safe For Use, at the recommended percentage of .05% terpene to oil. or using best chemistry judgement, thereabouts depending on the patient's needs.
This post is ONLY for hospitals, pharma, biochem, or culinary. If you use it, use it at your own risk, but it can be a critical tool in anyone's recovery or in harm reduction. Risk is lessened if you have exact measurements and or have knowledge of chem, naturopathy, or pharma. Terpene isolates are chemical concentrates and can be toxic if ingested at more than the recommended percentage. Dose for weight or severity, and use best judgement.
Here is my recipe: .05% terpene to oil.
This is what I use personally:
30ml edible food grade oil (like MCT or olive oil)
2 drops myrcene - relax and anti-anxiety
2 drops limonene - focus and creativity
1 drop alpha-pinene - memory and digestion
1 drop beta pinene - relaxation and cognition
1 drop nerolidol (optional) - safe mood lifter
This is a basic "sativa"-analgous mix. Shake well for 30 seconds to 5 minutes, Shake well before each use. If you can, prep the day before, with a stir bar in a beaker overnight, no heat needed, a cool ambient temperature is ideal.
Then one dropperful as needed throughout the day. May dose two times a day to several as gastrointestinally tolerated.
Indica-forward terpenes are out there and commonly involve myrcene and linalool. Here is my recommended, please do some research to compare the patient's typical cannabis strain, because you can formulate the terpene mix to match.
2 drops myrcene
2 drops linalool
1 drop limonene
1 drop alpha-pinene
1 drop beta-pinene
Try to use less, or blend at a lower percentage, if the terpenes become hard on the stomach. If possible use a stir bar in a beaker overnight to prep it for the next day. This is a foodsafe recipe so it can be incorporated into food or beverage if needed in urgency, but it is not usually recommended because the mix needs to be uniform or the terpenes will not be evenly administered.
Other good terpenes are humulene and linalool, linalool is especially soothing and helps sleep. But be sure to use the right percentage of .05%. Please use a reference for what all terpenes do, as there are nearly inifinite combinations, not just this one. They may be listed as cannabis terpenes, but they are not THC or CBD-containing. Terpenes are just a legal part of the feel-good effect.
Coupled with my Moon Tea recipe it's a more comfortable road through detox.
I'll post that in a few seconds, in another post.
Thanks , be good, and be careful.
